Sean Hagan is General Counsel and Director of the Legal Department at the International Monetary Fund. He joined the IMF in 1990 and was appointed Director of the Legal Department in 2004. He speaks to the IBA about the legal aspects of sovereign debt restructuring and the challenges posed by the eurozone crisis, as well as the work of the legal team to advance legal reforms, fight money laundering and corruption worldwide.
