IBA Annual Conference Vancouver, 3-8 October 2010: registration now open, keynote speaker Bob Woodward confirmed
We are pleased to announce that registration details and preliminary programme information are now available for this year’s IBA Conference which will take place from 3-8 October.
Bob Woodward, the foremost journalist of his generation, will deliver the keynote speech at this year’s opening ceremony. From his defining role in revealing the full extent of the Watergate scandal, to the Supreme Court, the CIA, the Pentagon, President Clinton, the Federal Reserve, the 9/11 terrorist attacks, four books on the wars of President George W Bush, and now the Obama administration, Woodward has consistently found the inside, hidden story of Washington institutions and the American Presidency.
The Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, has been invited to formally open the conference.

This year’s event will feature an array of substantive sessions, workshops and panels, addressing issues ranging from arbitration to M&A law, from human rights to the ethics of the legal profession, and offers delegates up to 25 hours of CLE or CPD. Over 200 sessions will be presented, and attended by, leading international experts from firms and organisations across the globe.
The extensive roster of high-profile speakers at this year’s event also includes: The Chief Justice of Canada, Beverley McLachlin; former US Supreme Court Justice, Sandra Day O’Connor; former President of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), Juan Méndez: the former Prosecutor for the War Crimes Tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda, Justice Richard Goldstone, and the heads of the Brazilian, Russian, Chinese, Indian, and Canadian anti-trust authorities.
