Cleaning up the mess: restructuring and insolvency approaches worldwide

16-18 May 2010          Hamburg, Germany

The Section on Insolvency, Restructuring and Creditors' Rights holds a conference each spring at which insolvency practitioners from across the globe come together to discuss developments in their area. Full information on this year's conference

Following the recession experienced in 2008/2009, there is expected to be economic growth in most countries in 2010. However, the restructuring/insolvency community will still be extremely busy for years to come. In-court and out-of-court restructuring will be the only solution to prevent businesses in trouble from collapsing. There are different approaches in various jurisdictions to achieving this goal and in many countries the legislation concerned is under permanent review in order to reach improvements.

This conference will be a forum to explore the different ways of saving businesses in trouble and will enhance each participant’s knowledge not only in cross-border cases but also in combining in- and out-of-court restructuring tools and methods for the sake of all stakeholders.
