The Future of Guantanamo BayFollowing US President Obama’s announcement on 21 January 2009 of the halting of all Guantanamo trials, numerous questions are being asked as to the future of detainees and any future legal processes that may occur. This paper addresses the potential legal and practical difficulties which will ensue following the necessary decision to close the facility.
