The Eurosparks project is analysing legislation across EU member states relating to mutual recognition of penalties and co-operation in enforcement of penalties together with data transfer. It is part of the ‘Sparks’ programme, and is co-funded by Transport for London and the European Commission’s Civil Justice Framework Programme. Join the debate on new European legislation to increase foreign registered vehicle compliance with national parking and driving laws. They believe new legislation is needed to improve compliance with traffic laws, but want to hear views from the private sector and government before making final recommendations to the European Commission in early 2008. Seminar delegates will discuss the legal experts’ key findings and debate their interim recommendations: ·A new directive under the Common Transport Policy provisions within the EC Treaty The seminar is open to government representatives, local authorities and transport organisations, legal practitioners within European institutions, national and regional governments, and private practice and academic lawyers with an interest in cross-border judicial co-operation.
