Reasons for the Appeals Chamber’s Decision of 16 February 2007 on the Defence counsel’s request for modification of the time limit


On 30 January 2007 the Defence filed an appeal against the decision on the confirmation of charges on the basis of Article 82(1)(b). On 1 February 2007 the Appeals Chamber directed the Defence to make submissions on the admissibility of the appeal by Wednesday 7 February 2007 and put the Prosecution at liberty to make their response by 13 February 2007. The Defence filed its submission on 7 February 2007, along with a confidential application for modification of the time limits on the basis of ‘difficulties with his health affirmed to be the case by a doctor’s certificate attached thereto.’
