Justice under threat: a report on the rule of law in Venezuela - March 2007
Following heightened concern over the deterioration of the rule of law in Venezuela, the IBA sent a delegation to the country in March 2007 to ascertain the independence of the judiciary and the ability of lawyers to carry out their duties freely.

Venezuelan Justice System in Crisis - March 2003
The 2007 visit followed up on a mission to Venezuela in 2003, where meetings were held with the Vice-President; the Attorney-General; magistrates from the Supreme Court and other members of the judiciary; members of the national armed forces; the police and the Mayor’s office of Caracas; and representatives from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society.

Introductory Report of the Administration of the Justice in Peru and Venezuela
- March 1999
A fact-finding delegation was sent to Peru and Bolivia in 1999 to monitor and consider the perceived lack of independence felt by the judiciary in the two countries and to make recommendations where appropriate.
