Committee Overview

The Maritime and Transport Law Committee is one of the largest and most active international groups of individual attorneys practising in Maritime and Transport Law. The Committee enables members to:

• increase knowledge of maritime and transport issues throughout the world; 
• improve client advice; 
• meet fellow practitioners face-to-face; 
• become well-known to other competent specialists.

Additionally, the Maritime and Transport Law Committee works with the following Committee to form the Maritime and Aviation Law Section:

Committee Scholarship

This year the Dispute Resolution Section will again award a scholarship to a young lawyer who wishes to participate in the IBA Annual Conference, but is unable to do so owing to financial constraints.

The scholarship award for 2008 includes the following:

• Free registration for the IBA 2008 Annual Conference, 12-17 October 2008, Buenos Aires Argentina.
• A contribution towards travel costs to the conference.
• Cover of accommodation costs while attending the conference.
• Two year's free IBA membership including membership of one LPD Committee and one PPID Constituent.
• A waiver of either the next IBA Annual Conference registration fee or the registration fee of one of the following chosen committees' specialist conference in 2009.
• Free membership of the Scholarship Alumni Group
