About the Subcommittee
The Corporate Governance Subcommittee is responsible for reviewing corporate governance issues and trends and encourages and promotes knowledge-sharing among its members, through publications and participation in conferences.
For this purpose, the Subcommittee issues a corporate governance brief and ensures that there are always corporate governance sessions in the IBA Annual Conferences. Furthermore, the Subcommittee works closely with other Committees for the purposes of participating in specialised conferences, which involve corporate governance matters.
Topics regularly reviewed by this Subcommittee include, inter alia, board governance (roles and responsibilities, members evaluation, risk oversight), audit committees, executive compensation, nominating committees, proxy advisers, etc. Special attention is also devoted to updating regulatory and legislative reforms, from a multi-jurisdictional point of view.
