International Financial Law Reform Subcommittee Home

Since being established in 1998, the subcommittee has worked to promote reform initiatives in the area of financial law by:

  • identifying legal issues arising from innovation or change in the financial sector;
  • analysing the need for reform arising out of such issues;
  • aiming to achieve consensus for the need for similar reform both at the international level and across a number of different jurisdictions; and
  • providing support to financial law reform initiatives undertaken by other organisations.

Currently, the subcommittee is looking primarily at the need for law reform in the fields of netting and securities laws. Read more
