Understanding the profession
IBA membership is a fantastic way for students to familiarise themselves with future employers, and their work. IBA members include leading law firms, such as: Allen & Overy LLP, White & Case LLP, Linklaters, Clifford Chance, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. Members also include 195 bar associations and law societies; over 40,000 individual lawyers and over 1,000 corporate counsel members representing hundreds of multinational corporations including Coca-Cola, IBM, Exxon-Mobil and AT&T.
Benefits from student-specific IBA projects

The IBA will provide resources and information specifically for students. Student members will be given the opportunity to have their work published: the IBA is currently accepting submissions for ‘International Bar Notes’, a collection of short online articles, as well as contributions for the first issue of the Student Committee Newsletter. Students will be able to enter competitions, submit questions for vocational interviews, participate in group projects and join in with discussion boards; as well as being provided with information about exciting internships within the IBA.
