The arrest of former Bosnian Serb leader Ratko Mladic following a 16-year manhunt represents a milestone for international justice, according to leading lawyers. Mladic, who made his first appearance at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague on 3 June, has been charged with 11 counts of genocide, crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war. The charges relate to the July 1995 massacre at Srebrenica.
