Dear friends and colleagues,
We are very proud to welcome you to this new edition of the newsletter of our Young Lawyers’ Committee, which is one of the largest committees within the IBA, having more than 1,800 members around the globe.
In these unprecedented and challenging times, it is more important than ever to stay connected with our community in meaningful ways, especially as it relates to the needs and development of the future generation of lawyers. Even though we will not be able to meet in person this year, we have created a robust and dynamic programme of virtual events and projects to seek your participation and to keep you abreast of current research and developments.
The newsletter is one of our most known initiatives and we strongly encourage all of you to continue to submit your articles covering all legal areas and related updates from your jurisdictions around the globe.
Additionally, we encourage you to participate in other activities and virtual events, with particular reference to our webinars; the Young Lawyers Survey that has been recently launched to gather data on the collective interests and priorities of young lawyers; and last, but absolutely not least, our sessions for the IBA 2020 Virtually Together Conference that will take place in the month of November.
For the full list of our initiatives and activities, please visit our newly updated webpage.
All the officers of the Young Lawyers’ Committee and the network of National Representatives, covering more than 50 jurisdictions worldwide, are virtually with you all.
Please stay safe and well. We look forward to seeing each of you again in person.
Virtually yours, in the meantime,
Michelle Bakhos and Marco Monaco Sorge
