Mr. Ding focuses on merger filing, antitrust litigation, antitrust investigation, and antitrust compliance. He has accumulated a vast amount of experience in his more than ten years of practice. Mr. Ding was one of the first Chinese lawyers to appear in the WTO, and is one of the first lawyers in China to have been in contact with and long engaged in the 337 investigation practice.

Kenji Ito is an antitrust partner of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto based in Tokyo. He served as an official at the Japan Fair Trade Commission, the competition authority in Japan, where he was engaged in a number of high-profile antitrust cases. He has extensive experience in gaining merger clearance for cross-border transactions, defending cartel investigations, litigating civil antitrust cases, and managing complex international competition matters including distribution, licensing, joint ventures, and various types of business alliances. Legal publications such as GCR, Who’s Who Legal, and Chambers recognize him as one of the leading lawyers in Japan.

Natalie is the Head of Slaughter and May’s Asian Competition Practice. She advises extensively in relation to cross-border M&A with a particular focus on Chinese merger filings. Natalie regularly coordinates merger notifications on complex global transactions, including those requiring remedies across different jurisdictions, and provides strategic advice to clients on timing, sequencing and substance of remedies proposals. Her recent clients have included Booking.com, Elanco Animal Health, Google, INEOS, OOCL, Royal Dutch Shell, Shire, Standard Chartered Bank, Starwood, Tencent. Natalie is also widely recognised as a leading competition lawyer within Hong Kong, including in the latest editions of Chambers Asia-Pacific and the Legal 500 Asia Pacific. She has worked on a number of the ‘firsts’ in Hong Kong, including representing the liner shipping industry and the banking industry on their respective applications to the Competition Commission for exemption from the Ordinance. Natalie has also acted on the first commitments case (representing Booking.com) and the first cooperation cases (representing Harilela Hotels Limited and others) in Hong Kong, as well as other ongoing investigations.

Elizabeth Xiao-Ru Wang is an Executive Vice President with Compass Lexecon and specializes in antitrust and intellectual property (IP) issues. She has provided economic analyses in merger review, commercial disputes and regulatory hearings, especially in cross-border matters. Dr. Wang has been involved in casework in a variety of industries, including technology platforms, life sciences, agriculture, financial markets, transportations, and consumer products. She has submitted reports to authorities in China and the United States, and has testified in courts. Dr. Wang has been part of the leadership at the American Bar Association for a decade. She was also named multiple times to the International Who’s Who Legal: Competition Economists list. In addition, Dr. Wang has published and spoken frequently on antitrust and IP issues. Dr. Wang is also a Senior Research Fellow and Economist at Competition Law Centre, University of International Business and Economics in China. She is an executive editor of LexisNexis Antitrust Report. Dr. Wang has a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in the United States and a B.A. in Economics from Peking University in China.
