A conference co-presented by the IBA Corporate and M&A Law Committee and the IBA Latin American Regional Forum, supported by the IBA Law Firm Management Committe and the IBA Closely Held and Growing Business Enterprises Committee
Important changes and new challenges to M&A activity are being experienced all over the world. It is inevitable that a global pandemic would affect the way corporations do business; what lessons, then, can be learned to avoid pitfalls? Latin America is no stranger to challenges, but what are the opportunities lying ahead?
Keeping up with current trends, continuing to attract investment into the region and trying to better protect businesses from external storms requires a significant amount of work. This conference will address the changes and challenges, as well as how to create an environment that favours development and growth and that opens M&A activity in the region to more investors around the world.
Topics will include:
- How Covid 19 has affected the M&A landscape in Latin America
- ESG and M&A in Latin America
- What is driving the surge in M&A deals
- Women entrepreneurship in Latin America
- Protections against deal uncertainty
- Private equity and venture capital investments
- The emergence of Fintechs in Latin America
- Anti-corruption enforcement
- Antitrust issues in technology companies’ M&A
- Law Firm Management issues
In order to ensure your safety and comfort throughout the event, the IBA will be following a Code of Conduct and adhering to both local and national guidelines and governmental regulations.
