Melina Kapeliou

Biography

Melina Kapeliou is the Head of the Investment Structures & Vehicles team within the Legal Service of the European Investment Fund (EIF) and has previously been part of the EIF’s Guarantees & Securitisation legal team. Prior to joining the EIF, Melina worked as an associate at the US law firm, Fried Frank, focusing primarily on M&A and capital markets transactions. Melina started her career as a lawyer at Debevoise & Plimpton and continued at the European Commission where she dealt with foreign direct investment matters. Melina holds an LLM degree in Corporate Law and Governance from Harvard Law School, an LLM degree in Finance from the Institute for Law and Finance in Frankfurt and a bachelor’s degree in law from the Law Faculty of Athens.
