8th WWL Conference: breakout - Art law - Women on top (or'shaking up the codes')

8th World Women Lawyers' Conference
From courtroom to boardroom: the impact of women
12-13 April 2018
Royal Horseguards Hotel, One Whitehall Place, London, UK
The art market is an exciting field of interest for business women and lawyers. For centuries, the art world has been largely dominated by men, as artists, dealers or collectors, bar some famous exceptions such as Angelica Kauffman and Mary Moser in the UK, or Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun and Camille Claudel in France, to name but a few. Today, the
situation has notably improved, with more and more women involved in a changing art market. This panel will focus on a selection of woman’s art oriented business initiatives, shaping up today’s art market. The open-mindedness of art is an opportunity for women to shake-up the codes.
