With the new VBER entering into force on 1 June 2022, the European Union gets new rules for vertical agreements. The panel will discuss topics like dual distribution, agents, platforms and other hot topics for brands and retailers as well as recent case law and enforcement practice. We will take a deep dive also into the latest global developments on digital distribution issues.

Increased merger control enforcement is high on the agenda for many jurisdictions and there is a trend of increased scrutiny and complexity, creating uncertainty for merger control parties. This panel will look at trends of expanding jurisdiction, more intense scrutiny of remedies (especially behavioural ones) and an increasing number of prohibited or abandoned deals due to the intervention of agencies.

The European Competition Network (ECN) is now 18 years old. What are the most important learnings from its childhood and adolescence? Can the ECN be now rightly called an adult, i.e. a mature system, fully realising its power and potential? What are the ECN's current biggest achievements and challenges? The panel will discuss these questions and will also look at the most relevant issues of the day from the perspective of both the enforcers as well as of those in private practice.
