DESCRIPTION:We are experiencing the internet moving towards many differen
 t layers and away from the open internet. There are also many players fr
 om the governmental sector to the private sector who want to have contro
 l over the internet and various layers. How can we ensure the future dev
 elopment of internet services\, individual rights of citizens and\ngover
 nmental interests together with globalisation?\n\nThe session will focus
  on technical and public policy issues\, including privacy and other imp
 ortant viewpoints.\n\nThe session will also address to what extent globa
 l responses to such challenges would be necessary\, discussing the inter
 national frameworks that are already available with respect to privacy a
 nd data protection\, such as the Privacy Shield between the EU and US.
