SUMMARY:Global mobility report
DESCRIPTION:The session will report on the findings of the draft of the (
First) Global Mobility Report through surveys with multinationals and in
ternational counsel engaged in the field of international mobility. The
report is led by a working group on behalf of the Global Employment Inst
itute (GEI)\, in coordination with all the committees of the Human Resou
rces (HR) section.\n\nThe report shall cover all the legal aspects relat
ed to moving personnel across the globe\, and shall not be limited to co
rporate immigration law aspects\, but also include related aspects of ot
her areas of law\, such as employment law\, social security law and taxa
tion law. As the report is to be launched by the GEI\, the focus of the
report shall be HR-driven. Global intra-corporate mobility is an essenti
al part of global workforce mobility as a result of corporates expanding
further afield\, and more challenging and restrictive legislative polic
y being implemented by governments\, as well as mobility becoming a boar
d-level issue. Further\, we have seen increasing numbers of global multi
nationals of all sizes\, from many countries – including developing coun
tries – and from all economic sectors. The report shall facilitate the p
rocessing of such transfers for companies facing the issue.\n\nAfter the
presentation of the findings\, there will be an opportunity for a discu
ssion on the report and the issues covered (or those not sufficiently co
vered yet or left out) in order to finalise the draft report later in 20
 17 or early 2018.
