  order of the upstream oil and gas community is changing to accommodate 
 the arrival of those with different outlooks and models for their busine
 sses.  Of particular significance are funds and private equity businesse
 s which bring a different approach to investment and risk\, as well as t
 o their relations with governments\, partners and lenders.  A part of th
 e upstream oil and gas sector in the US for some time now\, these entiti
 es have more recently moved towards Europe\, initially in relation to up
 stream facilities interests and now in relation to producing and even ex
 ploration interests.
