SUMMARY:Singapore convention: a game changer?
DESCRIPTION:The Singapore Convention (the 'Convention') was conceived to 
 provide for international commercial mediations what the New York Conven
 tion on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitration Awards di
 d for international arbitrations. The Convention\, which only applies to
  settlements resulting from mediation of international commercial disput
 es\, enables enforcing parties to pursue the enforcement of mediated set
 tlement agreements directly in a court in a Convention country where enf
 orcement is sought.\n\nThe panel discussion covers:\n\n• the status of t
 he Convention since its signing on 7 August 2019\;\n• whether the Conven
 tion will prove to be a 'game changer' for the use of mediation in resol
 ving international commercial disputes\;\n• concerns on the application 
 of the Convention\; and\n• whether the Convention has led to a change in
  the practice of mediation of international commercial disputes.
