 l services?
DESCRIPTION:President Trump has challenged the long established economic 
 paradigm of multilateral free trade\, advocating reciprocity and bilater
 al trade deals in its place.  Whilst it is easy to see how this philosop
 hy applies to tariffs and quotas on wheat\, steel and cars\, how this pl
 ays out through trade in legal services is less clear. This session will
  look at what constitutes ‘fair trade’ for the legal sector. We will exp
 lore perceptions around trade imbalances in legal services and the conce
 rns to which they give rise. We will also consider whether Bar Associati
 ons should be advocating for legal services to be covered in bilateral f
 ree trade agreements and if so\, what should be in them. Expect a heady 
 cocktail of discussion about Trump\, Brexit\, post-colonial economics an
 d whether or not globalisation is irreversible.”
