SUMMARY:Mock trial – balancing scales: defending individuals and companie
 s in a corruption trial
DESCRIPTION:The mock trial is an attempt to stage a trial in which ‘corru
 ption’ is present in various ways. The trial will involve setting up a s
 cenario where individuals are accused of participating in corrupt activi
 ties on behalf of multinational corporations in the context of internati
 onal business transactions. It will provide an opportunity to explore bo
 th individual and corporate liability\, and the complexities of addressi
 ng corruption in Mexico’s context. It will also delve into the possibili
 ty of attempting amicable solutions and the legal instruments to recover
  funds that were transferred as bribes.\n\nThe mock trial is a joint ini
 tiative of the entire IBA Criminal Law Section.\n\nIf you are interested
