Description
Model documents / standards can substantially contribute to make venture investments in start-ups more efficient, provided they are accepted by the relevant players (particularly the lawyers) and the investors’ and entrepreneurs’ communities. In some jurisdictions, efforts have been undertaken or are being undertaken to create ‘lean’ or ‘light’ model documents which are acceptable by both investors and start-ups/entrepreneurs. A working group of specialised lawyers from many of the most important European jurisdictions have analysed whether and in which areas, despite different national legislations, it would be possible and meaningful to establish a panEuropean standard for lean documents for investments in start-ups. In this session, the results of this work will be presented and then discussed by all delegates.
