A webinar presented by the IBA Immigration and Nationality Law Committee, supported by the IBA Global Employment Institute and the IBA Employment and Industrial Relations Law Committee.

Remote work is here to stay, but what happens when you work remotely from abroad? What is considered work and what is simply business? And what if the purpose of the trip is a mix of work and holiday? How much ‘work’ can you carry out while you are on holiday?

Over the last few years, more companies and professionals have become interested in taking advantage of remote working, resulting in more remote job opportunities and governments worldwide looking to attract remote workers. As such, many countries are introducing a specific visa for digital nomads but in some cases the rules are stringent and individuals for short stays must also comply with tax and social security regulations.

The panel will discuss the implications and risks of working digitally while travelling abroad and the pros and cons of ‘digital nomad visas’.

To support this webinar, the speakers have prepared a table detailing information about digital nomad visas around the world.
