The Global Private Equity Transactions Market with a Double Click on Technology
This symposium always starts with a good look at what is happening in the M&A market globally with a particular focus on private equity transactions. Last year Simon Lyons gave us a tour de force and is returning to do it again this year albeit virtually and taking advantage of the opportunity to include his partner Gregory Dalvito who will focus on briefing us on developments in private equity and the technology field.

The private equity fund formation market
The deal environment for private equity is driven by fund formation and the support of investors or General Partners (GPs) for the asset class. An understanding of the dynamics of what is going on there is vital for any private equity transactional lawyer. Jason Glover will explain the dynamics of the market place and current issues on fund terms.

Technology deals: what makes them different? Technology companies as portfolio companies
Technology deals used to be almost exclusively a preserve of venture capital rather than private equity funds. Today the sector is a very active one with technology centric deals featuring heavily globally. What are the dynamics of this market place and what makes these types of deal different? What are the particular needs and challenges that portfolio companies in the technology industry present? What does a life cycle of a technology investment look like?
