A webinar presented by the IBA Private Client Tax Committee and the IBA Arts, Cultural Institutions and Heritage Law Committee
This webinar will consider the tax and succession issues that arise when thinking about artwork. This will include an examination of what testamentary structuring solutions exist in different jurisdictions and the tax reliefs or exemptions that may apply when leaving wealth for charitable or philanthropic purposes. The webinar’s panel will also consider whether provenance and title difficulties present problems in succession planning, as well as some of the most common ways that art owners can work with museums, galleries and other institutions to donate, lease or otherwise showcase their portfolios in a tax-efficient manner.
