IBA Human Rights Institute Trust

The IBA set up the IBA Human Rights Institute Trust (HRI Trust) in 2009.

The HRI Trust will support the charitable work of the IBA Human Rights Institute and other projects that fall within its remit to promote human rights (as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and subsequent United Nations and regional conventions and declarations) throughout the world. It will also focus on projects that promote the administration of justice. The Trustees will be interested in:

  1. education and training projects in human rights law and the provision of technical assistance and capacity building programmes.
  2. monitoring and researching human rights absues and threats to the administration of justice and the rule of law.
  3. to seek or obtain redress for victims of human rights abuses
  4. to conduct or promote the conduct of research and the publication of the results of such research.
