Bribery and corruption are key risks for the energy sector. This practical session tackles how to respond when potential bribery and corruption is identified.

We will explore how to respond to a potential bribery and corruption incident triggered by an external source such as an NGO, journalist, whistleblower, or a regulator or law enforcement authority. 
 
Using learnings from recent high-profile cases, we will discuss decision points throughout the life-cycle of the incident:
 
  • How to triage?
  • Whether to investigate
  • Managing internal stakeholders
  • Communications with funders and credit agencies, shareholders and the market
  • Interaction with regulators/enforcement authorities
  • Lessons learned and remediation
