Wednesday 23 February 2022

IBA Global Insight – the flagship magazine from the International Bar Association – has published a special edition on the climate crisis, available exclusively on the Global Insight app. Highlights include interviews with key figures on the issue, including former UN Special Envoy for Climate Change, Mary Robinson, on climate justice, and Mohamed Nasheed, the former President of the Maldives, who assesses the threat to his country’s very existence from rising sea levels.

Containing over 150 pages, the special edition illustrates how Global Insight has consistently published agenda setting coverage on the urgent issue of the climate crisis for over a decade.

The coverage includes analysis of how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the fight against the climate emergency, the rise of impact investing, and whether it’s time for an International Court for the Environment. Global Insight podcasts discuss investment by governments and business to tackle the climate crisis, and how civil society and strategic litigation are forcing governments and corporations to take long overdue action.

The content is divided into a number of major areas, specifically human rights; the green transition; finance; disputes; law, regulation and multilateral action; a range of interviews with leaders in climate; and how these developments are changing the legal profession.
