Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary-General and Chair, Kofi Annan Foundation

Kofi Annan is a Ghanaian diplomat who established the Kofi Annan Foundation in 2007 and served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006. He talks to the IBA about the Responsibility to Protect, particularly in the context of Syria. He also discusses the Millennium Development Goals – as well as the recently enacted Sustainable Development Goals – and the Business Human Rights agenda embodied in the 'Protect, respect and remedy' framework.
