In the US, a federal judge ruled that President Trump's deployment of National Guard troops in LA in response to protests against raids by the country's immigration enforcement agency was illegal. The Supreme Court has since ruled that ICE agents can continue to stop suspects without 'reasonable suspicion', permitting them to question individuals based solely on their race, language or job. These rulings come as President Trump's sweeping immigration raids continue, part of the growing trend of governments cracking down on migrants and refugees globally.
