IBAHRI mourns past Co-Chair Sternford Moyo
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It was with great sadness that the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) heard of the death of Sternford Moyo, a wonderful past Co-Chair of ours.
Sternford was a great son of Zimbabwe and a proud African, a democrat with a deep commitment to the rule of law and a champion of its role in democracy. He was never slow in his criticism of government erosions of civil rights and liberty. Sternford was for six years a Chair of the IBA's Human Rights Institute Council and remained on the Council thereafter. He was a constant support, and his wise counsel was invaluable to the Director and the legal team. Sternford was a giant amongst men who became an outstanding President of the IBA and a global leader of the law.
He is sorely missed, and we send out deep condolences to his widow, his family, and his friends.
Yours faithfully,
