Seeing Justice Through: long-term issues in international justice

Judge Kimberly Prost of the International Criminal Court provided the keynote address at 'Seeing Justice Through: long-term issues in international justice', an IBA, ICC & ICL Programme Experts’ Roundtable Discussion addressing theory, practice, and future perspectives.

The event was held on 21 October 2019 at the Peace Palace in The Hague and was supported by the IBA War Crimes Committee. Other speakers included IBA President, Horacio Bernardes Neto, HE Ambassador Paul van den IJssel and Ambassador Stephen Rapp.

IBA Hague Office update at 2018 IBA War Crimes Committee Conference

Aurélie Roche-Mair introduces the IBA Hague Office during the 2018 IBA War Crimes Committee Conference at the Peace Palace in The Hague and presents the activities of the IBA’s ICC and ICL Programme.

The conference, entitled ‘War and Justice’ brought together hundreds of IBA members and practitioners of international criminal law to discuss emerging issues in the field.

Gambia team at ICC Moot Court 2018

The team representing The Gambia in the 2018 ICC Moot Court Competition held in The Hague, the Netherlands from 27 May – 1 June, was a recipient of the first International Bar Association (IBA) scholarship awarded to enable outstanding law students to participate in the event. Issa, Musa, Mangikey and David travelled from The Gambia to the Netherlands and documented their experience. In a short (four minutes) inspiring film, the heart, gratitude and determination of Team 16 is captured. This video was produced by the University of the Gambia.

Witnesses under threat? Roundtable discussion on witnesses before the ICC, 15 July 2013

On 15 July 2013, an expert panel discussed the ICC’s efforts and challenges in managing and protecting witnesses. The event, held at The Hague Institute for Global Justice, marked the launch of the Programme’s latest report, Witnesses before the International Criminal Court, which encourages reflection on the Court’s reliance on witnesses, assesses its challenges and accomplishments in supporting, protecting and managing witnesses, and provides recommendations for the way forward.

IBA and ICC launch joint campaign to attract African female lawyers to ICC, May 2010

On 12 May 2010, the IBA and the International Criminal Court (ICC) launched a campaign to encourage qualified African women lawyers to apply for admission to the ICC List of Counsel and Lists of Assistants to Counsel. The campaign was launched during a press conference held at the ICC in The Hague.
