Catriona Hatton

Catriona Hatton is the partner in charge of the firm's Brussels office and Co-Chair of the firm's Global Antitrust and Competition Law group. Her practice focuses on European Union (EU) competition law. Catriona has extensive experience advising on EU and national competition law aspects of international mergers, including filings under the EU Merger Regulation and coordinating global merger filings. Catriona is Co-Chair of the International Bar Association's Merger Working Group.

Janet Hui

Janet Hui is a partner at JunHe’s Hong Kong office and is based in Beijing. Janet primarily specializes in antitrust, cross-border M&A, foreign investment and general corporate matters. Janet has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers Asia-Pacific in antitrust matters and regularly advises on complicated cross-border transactions with respect to transaction structuring, solutions and so on. Janet also frequently helps clients obtain antitrust approvals promptly and effectively.

Ms. Hui has more than 25 years experience in providing legal services to clients in different industries, particularly in areas such as telecommunications and media, hotels and real estate related legal practice.

Ms. Hui has extensive experience in handling various cross border M&A transactions including advising on the structure of transactions, identifying legal and regulatory issues discovered during the legal due diligence process, drafting, revising and finalizing transactions and ancillary agreements and attending to closing and post-closing material matters.

Neil Campbell

Co-Chair of the Competition and International Trade Law Groups and partner in the Energy Law Group. Member of the firm's Board of Partners, 2001–2007 and 2017–present. Competition law experience — over 300 merger clearances under the Competition Act and/or the Investment Canada Act; over 25 major cartel cases and/or related class actions; multiple abuse of dominance and other unilateral conduct investigations and proceedings; and advising on marketing, distribution, grey marketing, joint venture and compliance issues. Trade law experience — anti-dumping and subsidy proceedings; CUSMA (NAFTA), WTO and other, Canada Free Trade Agreement and government procurement matters; export/import controls; economic sanctions including Cuba and other issues under the Foreign Extraterritorial Measures Act; foreign corrupt practices (the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act); and investor-state disputes under CUSMA (NAFTA) and bilateral investment treaties. Energy law experience — electricity market issues including in relation to generation, loads, renewables / conservation, procurement contracts, imports / exports and regulatory matters; as well as competition and foreign investment issues in the oil and gas sector.

Alastair Mordaunt

Alastair is the co-head of the firm's antitrust practice in Asia based in Hong Kong. He also co-heads the firm's foreign investment skills group. He has more than 20 years of regulator and private practice experience, advising clients on merger control, foreign investment review and antitrust investigations. This includes four years as a senior official at the UK’s competition authority, the Office of Fair Trading. Alastair’s practice covers competition-related work across Hong Kong, mainland China and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region. He has previously worked in the firm's offices in London, Brussels and Washington DC. His extensive experience both at the regulator and as a private practitioner across three continents gives him a deep understanding of working effectively with regulators and devising successful strategies for his clients in the context of transactional and investigatory work. Alastair is ranked as a leading lawyer in the legal directories for antitrust and foreign investment. He is currently a non-governmental adviser to the Hong Kong Competition Commission in relation to its membership of the International Competition Network.

Andrea Hamilton

Andrea Hamilton draws on deep experience from both sides of the Atlantic, advising clients on some of their most strategic competition matters. She has been recognized for her subject matter experience and her ability to work closely and efficiently with clients to develop winning strategies. Andrea focuses her practice on EU and international merger control investigations as well as non-merger conduct investigations and antitrust litigation. She regularly represents clients before the European Commission and national competition authorities and coordinates global investigations.

Niko Hukkinen

Niko has more than 20 years of experience in domestic and international competition law matters. He regularly acts for industrial and private equity clients in complex merger control analyses and processes both before the EU institutions as well as domestic instances, including the coordination of multi-jurisdictional filings globally. Niko’s experience also includes competition law investigations and processes related, in particular, to the abuse of dominant market position, as well as self-assessment and feasibility analyses of different distribution, cooperation, and JV agreements. Niko has extensive experience from, for example, energy, forestry, health care, transportation, broadcasting, retail, and food industries.

Paku Khan

Paku Khan is Executive Director in both the Firm’s US Desk and Competition/Antitrust practice groups. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, US and New Delhi. Paku is one of the most experienced competition law experts in the country and was educated in the US, having attended Vanderbilt Law School for his law degree. He has more than 27 years of competition, merger control, corporate and related litigation experience. He has practiced competition law in both the US and the EU, having also served as a competition regulator in both these jurisdictions. Prior to joining Khaitan & Co, Paku was the Director of competition law at Amarchand Mangaldas from 2010 to 2012. Paku brings with him considerable global experience in cartels and abuse of dominance cases, having worked on such cases in several countries around the world, including the US and Ireland. Paku has been acclaimed for his competition law experience by publications such as the International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers and Economists, Chambers & Partners, and the Indian Business Law Journal. He has been involved as a lead or key lawyer/consultant on numerous complex merger cases in India, the EU, and the US, including Ryanair’s attempted acquisitions of the Irish airline Aer Lingus and Heineken's acquisition of parts of Scottish & Newcastle apart from his work in Ireland. In addition to his competition/antitrust law work, he also has a principal focus in serving as co-ordinator for the Firm’s US Desk, covering a variety of areas for the Firm.

Guillaume Loriot

Guillaume Loriot is the Director responsible for Directorate C, dealing with antitrust, mergers and state aid in digital, telecoms and media cases, at DG Competition. Prior to his appointment in 2014, Guillaume Loriot was the Deputy Head of Cabinet of Vice President Joaquin Almunia, EU Commissioner for Competition Policy, between 2010 and 2014, and was specifically responsible for Antitrust and Merger control, as well as for EU Legislation on Antitrust Damages Actions. He was previously Head of Unit 02 - Antitrust and Merger Coordination – at DG Competition. Before joining the European Commission in 2002, Guillaume Loriot qualified as an avocat (Paris Bar) and worked with a Brussels’ Law firm specialized in EC competition law until 1997. He then completed five years of service as a referendaire with the EU General Court. Guillaume Loriot obtained his law degree at the University of Paris II (1990). He is also a graduate of University College London (LLM, 1991) and of the College of Europe (Bruges, 1992).

Colin Raftery

Colin Raftery is the Senior Director of Mergers at the Competition and Markets Authority, where he leads the work of the CMA’s mergers group. Prior to joining the CMA, Mr Raftery advised on all aspects of EU and UK competition law at law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in Brussels and Washington DC. Colin Raftery holds an undergraduate degree in law from the University of Edinburgh and postgraduate degrees in law from the College of Europe, Bruges, and the University of Chicago.

Fernando Carreño

Fernando is a Partner of Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C. with more than 20 years of experience in competition and antitrust, as well as in corporate, M&A's, and joint ventures.

Moreover, he has ample expertise advising on complicated matters related to corporate, M&A’s, joint ventures and divestitures. Fernando has been involved in the most important competition and corporate deals in Mexico. He has advised on both the antitrust and the corporate aspects of such transactions. Fernando has played an active and important role representing clients in sophisticated and complex merger reviews as well as in investigations and litigations before the Federal Economic Competition Commission and the Mexican Courts.

Youngjin Jung

Youngjin Jung is Co-Chair of Kim & Chang's antitrust and competition law practice. Dr. Jung has significant experience in all areas of antitrust enforcement in merger control, international cartel and abuse of market dominance (including abuse cases of major global technology companies) in major industries such as the technology and IT sectors. He also leads the firm’s international trade practice (including trade remedies, WTO/FTA and sanctions).
