A webinar presented by the IBA's Human Rights Institute and the Human Rights Lawyers Association (HRLA)

The International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) and the Human Rights Lawyers Association (HRLA) are pleased to be co-hosting a virtual panel discussion in the month of World Press Freedom Day on how human rights are reported and represented in the media.

The panel will be co-chaired by Shoaib M Khan (Chair of HRLA) and Baroness Helena Kennedy LT KC (Director of IBAHRI), and will welcome leading practitioners, media law academics and legal journalists to discuss the critical role of the media in shaping how human rights are represented, the importance of a free press in exposing human rights violations and the power and responsibility of the media to hold the powerful to account and advance human rights-based narratives.
