A webinar presented by the IBA Human Rights Law Committee and supported by the IBA Immigration and Nationality Law Committee
This webinar will look at the current challenges to the protections of refugees under international law. Armed conflict, climate change, economic insecurity and political repression have continued to drive increases in migration across the globe. Increased migration has in turn generated a severe anti-immigrant backlash, including in the United States and Europe, that has eroded legal protections for migrants. Moreover, as recent events in the United States demonstrate, these developments have contributed to broader threats against judicial independence and the rule of law.
