A webinar presented by the IBA Human Rights Law Committee, the IBA War Crimes Committee and the IBA Human Rights Institute

Current conflicts have questioned the authority and even the relevance of international law regarding crimes committed in war. The panelists will explore claims that international law, and IHL in particular, often legitimates the violence of states, that its applications are Eurocentric and that some of its central concepts – for example, war crimes and crimes against humanity — seem to have lost their ethical power.
