As international accountability mechanisms addressing Russia’s aggression against Ukraine move from establishment to implementation, this in-person seminar will feature leading experts from the legal profession, international organisations, academia, government and civil society to discuss the latest developments. The first panel will examine the Register of Damage, Claims Commission and Compensation Fund, and the second will address the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and its contribution to ensuring accountability for the crime of aggression. The seminar will also consider how Japan, the Asia Pacific region and the wider international community can continue to support these accountability efforts and strengthen the international legal order.
