Biography

Tania works for the Council of Mexico’s Federal Judiciary. She has experience in the public and private sectors, academia and civil society. Her career has vastly been focused on drug policy and regulation, particularly in the Mexican market. As Drug Policy Program Director for one of the most important NGO´s in Mexico, she founded the first strategic litigation clinic in the field pushing Mexico’s supreme court rules that struck down laws prohibiting marijuana use. She was the Directive Board secretariat in the UN´s civil society committees on drugs in New York and Vienna, representing NGO´s before UN relevant bodies. Ramírez holds an LLM in Global Health Law from Georgetown University and an LLM in Comparative Constitutional Law from the Central European University.
