Biography
Jimena Vega Olmos is a partner at Beccar Varela, having joined the firm in 2025.
She focuses on Oil & Gas, Power (conventional and renewable), Project Development and Finance,
and Investment Arbitration with a focus in energy and oil & gas related disputes, having advised local
and international clients, from regulated and non-regulated sectors, in the development of oil & gas,
power and infrastructure projects in Argentina and complex transactions in these sectors.
Jimena obtained her Law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (2002), a postgraduate
degree in Economic Administrative Law at the Universidad Católica Argentina (2007) and
participated in the Infrastructure in a Market Economy program at Harvard University (2017).
Prior to joining Beccar Varela, she was a partner at Martínez de Hoz & Rueda (2018–2025) and
previously at Pérez Alati, Grondona, Benites, Arntsen & Martínez de Hoz (2015–2017), where she
had also worked as an associate (2002–2014).
She has authored publications on oil & gas and power, PPPs, financing of projects in those areas and
energy disputes.
She is a member of the Colegio Público de Abogados de la Capital Federal (Buenos Aires Bar
Association), the Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (where she serves on the board
of its Pro Bono Commission), and the International Bar Association.
Jimena has been recognized by Chambers Latin America, The Legal 500, IFLR and Lexology Index.
She speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese.
