Hugo Maestri

Biography

Hugo is a Brazilian lawyer, with more than 25 years in the legal field, 19 of which dedicated to working in two multinational companies, world leaders in their segments. For 10 years he has been the Head of Legal of A.P. Moller Maersk for the East Coast of South America. Hugo has LLMs in Constitutional Law and Civil Procedural Law and a Masters in Corporate Law. He was shortlisted in 2020 and 2021 by “The Legal 500” as one of the 5 best Brazilian in-house lawyers. He is currently the Legal Coordinator of the Brazilian Shipowners Association, was a member of the Federal Commission on Maritime Law and Transport of the Brazilian Bar Association and also received in 2020, the “Friend of the Navy” medal in recognition of his contribution to spread the maritime mentality in Brazil.
