Daniela Rey

Biography

Daniela Rey is a Tax Partner at Bruchou & Funes de Rioja (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and concentrates her practice on international taxation. She has over 15 years of practical experience in tax matters. She assists Argentine and foreign business entities in cross-border transactions, investments of Argentine entities abroad as well as investments of foreign entities in Argentina, including all related reporting and compliance matters applicable to individuals and business entities. She regularly advises in complex corporate and financial structures, in addition to many other aspects related to international taxation. Miss Rey leads the International Taxation Commission of the Unión Industrial Argentina. She currently also holds the position of National Reporter of the Taxes Committee of the International Bar Association. She is a member of the Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies and of the Bar Association of the City of Buenos Aires. Miss Rey received her law degree (tax law-oriented) from the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires in 2005. She was awarded with a merit scholarship to attend graduate tax studies at the University of Texas at Austin, School of Law (USA). In 2009, she obtained a post-graduate degree as tax law specialist at the Austral University, winning the medal award for her thesis work on double taxation treaties. She is currently a regular speaker in tax conferences and seminars (both in Argentina and abroad) and she usually contributes articles to specialized publications. She is assistant professor at the Master in Tax Law of the Argentine Catholic University and guest lecturer at Universidad Austral and Universidad de Rosario. Prior to joining the firm, Miss Rey was a member of the tax department of Negri & Teijeiro, mainly providing tax advice in transactional matters, with a special emphasis on international taxation. Since 2017, Since 2014, she has been recognized by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 among the leading professionals of her practice area. She is a regular speaker at several international conferences related with taxation matters. Prior to her law degree, she graduated as a Graphic Designer at the School of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning of the University of Buenos Aires (2000).
