Biography

Ryan Louvar has over 25 years of legal and business experience with specific focus on ETFs, innovative products and digital assets. Mr. Louvar currently serves as WisdomTree’s Chief Legal Officer and Head of Business and Legal Affairs, Digital Assets. This business unit expands well beyond the firm's existing ETF business by leveraging blockchain, crypto, DeFi, and tokenization technology in seeking to deliver new products and services. Mr. Louvar previously served as General Counsel of WisdomTree Asset Management, Inc. from 2013-2021 focused on WisdomTree’s $45 billion US ETF business. Prior to joining WisdomTree, Mr. Louvar was a Vice President and Senior Managing Counsel at State Street from 2005-2013, where he served as the Chief Legal Officer, Secretary, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Officer and Code of Ethics Compliance Officer for the SPDR family of ETFs. Mr. Louvar received an LL.M. in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University, a J.D. degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and a B.S. in Finance, cum laude, from the University of Colorado.
