Biography

António de Araújo Costa is a Senior Regulatory Risk Officer at Swiss Re's Regulatory Risk Management EMEA team. He deals mostly with EU (re)insurance prudential regulation topics, including the Solvency II framework, advising internal and external stakeholders and mitigating risks arising from changes in law and regulation. Prior to Swiss Re, António worked for Insurance Europe, the European insurance and reinsurance federation, in Brussels as a Policy Advisor on International Affairs & Reinsurance and for Abreu Advogados, a Portuguese leading law firm on corporate and finance law. In addition, António participated in the 2018 European Lawyers' Programme in Edinburgh, organised by the Faculty of Advocates and the European Lawyers' Association (ELA), individually placed with a Court of Session judge, as well as senior and junior counsel. António is a qualified lawyer of the Portuguese Bar, a member of the ELA, and holds a bachelor in Law and a master degree in Civil Law from the University of Porto's Law School.
