Biography

Michael is a partner in the KWM Tech Law team based in Melbourne, Australia. He has extensive experience working on complex IT and business process outsourcing transactions, systems development and integration agreements, transitional services arrangements and large-scale IT and general commercial procurement projects. Alongside his transactional practice, Michael has a strong interest in digital platforms, the development of emerging technologies and the continued growth of the data economy. He has worked on some of the most high-profile privacy and data-related matters in Australia, including in relation to regulatory investigations, advocacy on law reform, major data breach incidents and associated enforcement processes. Amongst other things, this work has covered the application of facial recognition technology in a range of different contexts. Michael has industry-leading clients across may different sectors, including online media, e-commerce, telecommunications, energy and resources and financial services.
