Biography

Lawyer with broad experience in Brazilian bankruptcy and insolvency law. Partner at Veirano Advogados, a full-service law firm. Speaker, lecturer, author, and researcher. Experience in advising clients on all matters involving bankruptcy and insolvency law, including the restructuring of indebtedness for both creditors and debtors, the reorganization of businesses, and investment in distressed companies in relation to over 100 domestic and cross-border transactions, including some of the largest and highest-profile cases in Brazil, some of which received the Latin Lawyer Deal of the Year Award in the Restructuring category. Bachelor of Laws from the University of São Paulo (2003). Master of Laws from the University of Coimbra (2007). Doctor of Laws in Business Law from the University of São Paulo (2013). Attendance to a course on comparative private law at the University of Salzburg (Austria) in 2005. Member of two research groups on bankruptcy and reorganization law at the University of São Paulo. Extensive research on bankruptcy law, especially on cross-border insolvencies and reorganizations of multinational corporate groups. Member of the first class of the Next Generation Leadership Program of the International Insolvency Institute (III), and the second class of the Next Generation Program of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ). Founding member of the Brazilian chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), and member of INSOL International. Author of several articles and book chapters on bankruptcy law, published in Brazil and abroad.
