Biography

Li Jiao, partner and lawyer at BUREN, is PRC qualified lawyers registered at All China Lawyers Association since 2007. Li Jiao specializes in investment into Chinese agricultural and food business, including market access strategies, licensing requirements, regulatory issues, safety compliance and land policy. She frequently advises international clients on China’s evolving agricultural policies. She also has extensive expertise in agricultural IP related issues, including protection and licensing of plant variety rights and international technology transfers. Li is a guest lecturer on Chinese Law on Food and Agriculture at Wageningen University (since 2011). Li frequently contributes to the international legal publications on the subject of Chinese agriculture law, including China chapter Agribusiness, Getting The Deal Through (LexGTDT), London, 2020, and Agricultural Law in China, Global Practice Guide, general editor, Thomson Reuters, London, 2020.
