Biography

Darío joined the firm in 2014 and is a Partner in the Department of Competition Law, Commercial Contracts, Consumer Protection, Data Protection, and Compliance. He holds a law degree from Universidad de Los Andes, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2009, he has been licensed to practice law in the state of New York. With over 20 years of experience in economic law, consumer law, and competition law, Darío has been involved in highly relevant administrative and judicial proceedings in recent years. This includes investigations into restrictive competition practices and unfair competition, as well as consumer claims processes. Additionally, he has provided advice on leniency processes before the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, as well as internal investigations related to competition issues and white-collar crimes. For his outstanding work, Darío has been recognized as one of the leading Competition lawyers in Colombia by prestigious global rankings such as Who's Who Legal, Best Lawyers, and The Legal 500. Furthermore, he is an active member of various international legal associations, including the American Bar Association (ABA) and the International Bar Association (IBA), as well as local associations such as ANDI, ADAPRI, and ACDC. He has been a Member of the Steering Committee of the ABA's Competition Law Committee (International Antitrust Committee) since 2009. Darío is a frequent speaker at various forums and has served as a competition law lecturer at the University of Los Andes.
